ÅAC Microtec a Swedish corporation developing and marketing satellite components and satellite buses announce today, the incorporation of a UK subsidiary based in Harwell, Oxfordshire. Following the recent successful IPO on the Nasdaq First North Stockholm, the Company has announced the expansion of its operations through the opening of a UK office. The UK operation will address the growing demand in UK and at other European organisations. The UK is one of the larger "Space Economies" in Europe and represents a significant market opportunity for ÅAC Microtec.
ÅAC Microtec had the honor to host HE Ambassador Jun Yamazaki and Col. Hiroyuki Fujita at its office in Uppsala. The successful Uppsala-based space company updated them on the ongoing and future Japanese collaborations.
York Space Systems and AAC Microtec announce a definitive agreement for the supply of advanced command and data handling avionics for York's S-Class small spacecraft platform. The avionics leverage AAC's unique design approach with low cost and high reliability. Under the agreement, the electronics will be manufactured by York in the United States; enabling broad reach across US Government and commercial markets.
The European Space Agency ESA has awarded Uppsala-based ÅAC Microtec the contract to develop an advanced miniaturized motion controller for future robotic exploration missions to Mars.
ÅAC Microtec has supplied a key avionics component for the new Philippine microsatellite Diwata-1, which was launched from Kennedy Space Center to the International Space Station (ISS) on March 23 and successfully deployed into orbit on April 27.
